Email communication is a critical piece to being a professional network marketer.  There are so many tools available for this purpose, but most of them are not very good.  There are however some very solid systems available that are commonly used by leaders throughout the industry.

if you already have a system that is working for you, then you understand the importance of it.  If not, then here are a few things to consider when looking at email systems:

• Cost - is it duplicable from a cost standpoint if your team wants to use it too
• User-friendliness - is is simple to use
• Deliverability - is there full-time staff working to insure that your emails are getting white-listed by the major email hosting companies (aol, yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc.)
• Can you import your existing list
• Is there a way to automatically have new list members added (capture forms, widgets, pages, etc.)
• Can you use it for team newsletters
• Can you use it for mlm prospect & lead autoresponder emails
• Is it a permission-based system (protects you from violating SPAM laws, etc)
• Can you send an unlimited number of emails
• Can you send both html rich text and regular text messages
• Will it automatically insert first name & other fields into the email messages

This is one of our favorites.  This service has over 300 email templates built into it.  You have access to all of them and you don't even have to be a programmer to use them.  The authors of this blog use this service for their team newsletters and trainings.  It can also be used as an autoresponse communicator with your leads.

We personally love using it as a way to communicate with our customers (those who are not taking advantage of the mlm opportunity, but using the products/ services).  In fact, you can even make sales directly from the newsletter.

The Money is in the List!  The Key is in the follow-up.

True, but only if you properly build, organize, manage, and work that list.  One of the biggest deficiencies in network marketing training is about how to properly manage a prospect list.

Memory joggers are a dime a dozen, and they are all very much the same.  Although important, they are worthless if you aren't constantly referring to them, writing down the names, and organizing your approach, presentation, and close of these prospects.

There are many contact management options available for sales professionals and network marketers, but very few specifically address the needs of network marketers.  Many are too complex to be duplicable in MLM, therefore most of us never get to take advantage of this very important tool.

MLM and network marketing lead companies are a dime a dozen.  Key things to consider when purchasing leads include: freshness of leads, how many times the lead is sold and to how many people, and ultimately how much do they cost. 

The truth of the matter is that most mlm lead companies get their leads from the same sources, typically co-registration companies that use pop-ups, pop-unders, etc.  These methods often generate leads who have no idea how you got their names, and can even be quite rude when they receive your call.  Not all leads are generated this way, but don't be surprised if you get that kind of response.

Our opinion is that all purchased leads suck.  This does not mean that working leads will not build your business, but you should treat the matter with a good understanding of the law of averages and a reality awareness.  People do have success using leads, but all of the people having success will admit that it is a numbers game.  You have to go through a lot of bad ones in order to find a few good ones.

Having said that, OppSeekers is site that is owned by Website Internet Services, Inc.  They have been in business for 7 years, so they are not a fly-by-night company.  They have a tremendous following of people who swear by their leads.  They also have the added bonus of having an affiliate program.  What this means is that as you recruit, you can then tie the new recruits into the same system via your affiliate link and this help cover the cost of your system.  They then do the same.

One final comment about purchased leads, the duplicability of purchasing leads is questionable.  Although anyone can buy them, call them, and use scripts, very few will actually buy enough, call enough, and follow-up appropriately enough for it to really duplicate.  Make sure that you have systems in place to keep your team on track if they are going to use these.
